A network for headteachers;  past, present and future.

I have been a member of HeadsUp4HT since December 2020. I am often found at the Wednesday evening and Saturday morning support sessions. I have laughed, I have cried, I have got angry, become hopeful and felt truly connected to an amazing group of former, current and aspiring heads. The network and all it provides through the case studies, buddy system, crisis coaching Hopes4Ed events and the group sessions are all invaluable to me.

As a contributor to their amazing work, I offer an exclusive deal to all members of HeadsUp and their leadership team. HeadsUp members get a 10% discount on supervision and coaching sessions, and reduced rates for the bespoke wellbeing projects and staff CPD or wellbeing gatherings.

Calderdale Business Hub

Networking is a vital tool for businesses, and for sole traders, but knowing which one and how much time to give is really tricky. After exploring options, I have joined a local network group: Calderdale Business Hub. This is not just about reaching out to businesses and organisations across the locality for Purplemoon to support, but also looking to see what there is locally to support Purplemoon. They are a really friendly and supportive bunch of individuals with varied businesses and roles and I am really looking forward to 2022 with this group. I have always believed in the power of connection and collaboration, so watch this space, and social media, for further news!

I am a non executive director of this small social enterprise based in Kirklees. I am very proud to be on the board of the Huddersfield Giants Community Trust. It is a registered charity (1117768) and non-profit making organisation. Using the influence of professional sport, we are responsible for all community sports and educational & NCS initiatives on behalf of Huddersfield Giants Rugby League.  We are here to inspire, create opportunities, promote being active and as a whole building a community where everyone belongs.  Our vision is to be recognised as a charity and the number one provider of fun, sport education and social inclusion, whilst meeting the needs of the local community. Activity Inspiring People!   The Zone is our home where play happens!

Lisa Darwin, the CEO, said in May 2021: ‘Jenny is a trustee for the trust, she has been investing quality time with myself and my team to get us ready for returning to full time work and giving us all the chance to speak about our personal and work life balance. Jenny has some great tips about the way we work and how we can work smarter. We would like to think at the Trust we invest in our team to ensure we keep a good retention rate, having Jenny spending time with 121s with us all has definitely been a benefit to the trust. Looking forward to our next 121 in 6 weeks’ time. Thank you Jenny!’

I love what Jo is delivering into schools via the Learnful platform, ensuring that there is daily mindfulness practice for all pupils and staff to support their mental and emotional wellbeing, as well as providing the school’s PSHE curriculum with meaningful content. What I (and the staff that use it) really love is that there is no planning, prep or additional work load for staff, they simply join in with the children. I am currently providing content for the Learnful staff platform, a specific area for staff wellbeing provided to Learnful Schools.

It is easy to implement, it has a real impact on the whole school in all areas but particularly mental health, emotional wellbeing, children’s behaviour and attitudes to learning. Click on the photo for a one page info flier.
