HeadsUp4HT

A network for headteachers;  past, present and future.

I have been a member of HeadsUp4HT since December 2020. I am often found at the Wednesday evening and Saturday morning support sessions. I have laughed, I have cried, I have got angry, become hopeful and felt truly connected to an amazing group of former, current and aspiring heads. The network and all it provides through the case studies, buddy system, crisis coaching Hopes4Ed events and the group sessions are all invaluable to me.

As a contributor to their amazing work, I offer an exclusive deal to all members of HeadsUp and their leadership team. HeadsUp members get a 10% discount on supervision and coaching sessions, and reduced rates for the bespoke wellbeing projects and staff CPD or wellbeing gatherings.

Community Foundation for Calderdale

Community Foundation for Calderdale supports charities and voluntary groups across Calderdale, working alongside these groups to address inequalities and create opportunities for those who need them the most.

As a Friend of the foundation I know I am supporting the work that is done to support vulnerable people and families in my local area. It also means that I can connect with charities and volunteer organisations across Calderdale to see how I can support and promote them. And it also means I am connecting with other values based businesses that care about the region we live and work in.

CFFC says ‘At Community Foundation for Calderdale, we believe in creating opportunities for everyone, especially in communities who need it the most. Working alongside our partners, our funding and expertise generate positive change in these communities, building a better future for everyone’.

Education Support

Do you want to feel reinvigorated, energised and develop in your role?

Jenny is an associate Supervisor for Education support, and delivers DfE funded sessions for leaders

Supervision has a professional focus and is totally confidential. It is time dedicated to your role as an education leader, and will help you to improve your wellbeing.

Education Support has supported over 1300 school and college leaders so far. Subjects that are explored in supervision can include:

  • Dealing with emotionally challenging aspects of your role
  • Balancing a demanding career with a healthy home-life
  • Your professional identity and the personal cost of doing your job
  • Managing tricky work relationships
  • Reconnecting with what’s great about a career in education

Supervision makes a real difference to the lives and wellbeing of leaders. Studies show that supervision is associated with job satisfaction, improved emotional wellbeing and less burnout (Dawson et al, 2013).

It won’t fix the wider sector challenges you face, but it can give you a safety net while you meet them.

Our Creative Connection

Our Creative Connection is a Social Enterprise that uses Photography for Social Change.

Based in Huddersfield but working across the North of England, our aims are to:

–          Help those who are often unheard gain a voice

–          Encourage critical conversations that bring about change

–          Support health & wellbeing through creative expression

We achieve this through participatory projects such as Photovoice which provides a means for people to show rather than tell how they feel about things that are important in their life.

In our work we use Photography to disrupt the over reliance on words within organisations and in community settings, bringing a more visual aspect to dialogue – we believe that seeing what someone else sees is more powerful than being told about it.
