Always Learning!
When I was employed in schools I’d always view my CPPD (continuous professional and personal development) as essential, although I wasn’t focussed on academic study or awards. In October I completed the 5th of the 5 units in the APT Diploma in Psychological Therapies, which has Level 4 accreditation. I have received confirmation of my Diploma, and the certificate. I am very proud of myself as although I do not wish to be a counsellor or therapist, the knowledge I have gained is informing and supporting my supervision and coaching. I also have a greater understanding of mental health therapies, which means I can effectively signpost my clients if we feel that is the right next step for them.
The units covered were: CBT(Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) Essentials, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) Essentials, SFT (Solution Focussed Therapy) Essentials, DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) Essentials and Motivational Interviewing (and how to use it effectively).
