When I was employed in schools I’d always view my CPD as essential, although I wasn’t focussed on academic study or awards. Now I am working towards the APT Diploma in Psychological Therapies, which has Level 4 accreditation. Although I do not wish to be a counsellor or therapist, the knowledge is greatly informing and supporting my supervision and coaching and I have greater understanding of mental health. I am 4/5 of the way through, having just completed Motivational Interviewing, and how to use it effectively, and it will definitely inform my practise!
